The Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen Club was established in 2003 as a 501C3 nonprofit organization. Our mission focuses on the conservation of wildlife, habitat, and our natural resources through various community initiatives. The Sportsmen Club participates in many habitat improvement projects in Southeastern Arizona, public seminars, hunter education and gun safety classes, fundraising benefits, and we work with many other local nonprofit groups and organizations in our community.

The mission of the Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen Club is to be involved in the conservation of wildlife, habitat, and natural resources. To educate the public, and members, on firearm safety and conservation issues. Support and defend the second amendment of the United States Constitution. Provide recreation and organized activities related to conservation and sportsmanship. To generate funds to promote and enhance local wildlife populations.

Our annual Big Buck Fundraiser gives the club an opportunity to gather with many of our members and like-minded local sportsmen, hunters, and conservationists to celebrate our hunting heritage. This fundraiser alone is very fundamental in providing the money the club needs to complete our habitat improvement projects throughout the year. The Big Buck Fundraiser is held the last Saturday of February, and participants can win anything from hunting related door prizes, all the way up to the Grand Prize Side by Side and trailer.

The Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen Club funds and completes 5 or 6 Water For Wildlife Projects throughout the year, which is essential during these times of water scarcity! Since 2003, the club has completed over 100 such projects in Southeast Arizona, including Frye Mesa Unit 31, Wilson Spring Unit 27, Cedar Mountain Unit 31, Guthrie Peak Unit 28, Little Horseshoe Unit 28, Gobbler Peak Unit 27, Dry Prong #2 Unit 28, Bear Sign Unit 28, Dark Canyon Unit 31, Peters Trick Tank Unit 27, East Engineer Springs Unit 27, and Olsen Spring Unit 28. These projects are possible because of the money raised at the Big Buck Fundraiser!

Each year the Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen Club grants $2,000 in scholarship funds to deserving local students. The goal of the club is to promote continuing education for local students from schools in Southeastern Arizona pursuing college degrees primarily in outdoor-related fields. Our scholarship program is another recipient of the money raised at our annual Big Buck Fundraiser.

In conjunction with the Arizona Game & Fish Department, the Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen Club puts on several youth seminars each year, including hunter education (deer, dove, and javelina). We feel it is important to teach local youth about hunting, firearm safety, wildlife habitat, and being good stewards of the land.
